The AI Daily

About & methodology

What we are

The AI Daily is a daily briefing for business leaders and technologists who need to stay current on AI — without spending two hours reading the internet. Every morning we publish the day's most signal-rich AI and tech stories, layered by topic, with a sharp editorial take on what it means.

Every Monday we send The AI Weekly — a narrative synthesis of the week's themes, a trend analysis, and the "Two Takes" opinion column from Maya and Max.

How we pick the stories

Step 1 — RSS fetch

Every morning at 7am IST we pull the last 24 hours from 14 editorial sources:

Reuters — global news
CNBC — markets + tech
TechCrunch — startup coverage
The Verge — consumer tech
Wired — deep tech
Data Center Dynamics — infrastructure
OpenAI — official blog
Anthropic — official blog
Google AI Blog — research
DeepMind — research
SiliconAngle — enterprise tech
VentureBeat — AI business
Inc42 — India startups
MediaNama — India tech policy

Step 2 — Signal ranking (GDELT)

Raw articles are ranked by cross-web reference counts from GDELT — a real-time index of global news coverage. A story cited 50 times across the web has more signal than a press release cited once. This is our primary proxy for "does the world think this matters," independent of which outlet published it first.

Step 3 — LLM synthesis

The top-ranked articles are passed to Claude (Anthropic) which selects and layers them into six sections — Foundation Models, Infrastructure, Applications & Products, Policy & Safety, India Lens, and Business Functions. The LLM writes the TL;DR, section intros, and signal explanations. We do not editorially override the selection; the ranking and the model decide what runs.

🇮🇳 India lens — since June 2026 we carry a dedicated section on India's AI ecosystem: sovereign and local foundation models, government AI policy, startup funding rounds, and enterprise adoption. Sources include Inc42, MediaNama, and the Economic Times technology desk.
